Cha House
About Cha House
Tea drinking asks for a slightly different setup than coffee, and shops built around it tend to look and feel unlike the espresso bars nearby. Cha House operates at 2271 Harvey Avenue, one of many businesses sharing that Orchard Park address on the Dilworth side of Harvey, where a great many businesses answer to a single address on Highway 97.
What gets served under the heading of tea varies enormously. Some places focus on loose leaf brewed by the pot, some on bubble tea with tapioca or jelly and a long list of flavour combinations, and some sit between the two with milk teas, fruit teas and a small food offering alongside. Sweetness and ice levels are usually adjustable and dairy alternatives are common, so if you have a preference it is easier to say so at the counter than to hope for a helpful default.
The practical advantage of a shopping centre address is that it works all year. Kelowna summers get hot enough that a cold drink is the whole point of the trip, and an indoor room is a relief when Harvey Avenue is shimmering. In the grey, damp part of winter the same building becomes the easiest place in town to spend an hour out of the weather. Getting there is simple from Rutland, Glenmore and the Mission alike, which is more than can be said for a downtown errand in the middle of summer. The phone number is 250-717-1687 if you want to check on something first.
