About Burtch Dental
Sharing a building with two other businesses at 1455 Harvey Ave, Burtch Dental sits at the downtown end of Kelowna's central spine, the stretch of Highway 97 that most of the city crosses at some point in a working week. Position matters more than it sounds for dental care: an appointment reachable from Glenmore, Rutland or the Mission without a long detour is an appointment people actually keep, particularly the twice yearly visits that otherwise slide off the calendar.
General dental practices cover a broad middle ground, from cleanings and checkups through fillings, crowns, extractions and the early stages of gum treatment, with referrals out for surgery, orthodontics or complex root work. The useful differences are practical ones. How far ahead new patients are booked, whether a hygienist visit and an exam happen on the same day, how emergencies are triaged during a busy week, and how billing to an insurance plan is handled all vary from one office to another.
Cost is the conversation most people avoid and should not. Ask for a written treatment plan with fee codes before agreeing to anything beyond routine care, and ask what portion a typical plan is likely to cover. If you have just moved to the valley, transferring records from a previous dentist is usually straightforward but takes longer than people expect, so start it early. Allow a few extra minutes for parking on this part of the avenue, which is at its busiest around the middle of the day.
