About Bering Music Centre
Music shops occupy an odd corner of retail, part storefront and part workshop. Beyond the instruments on the wall there is usually a repair bench, a rental program for school players, restringing and setup work, and somebody who can tell a beginner what actually matters in a first guitar or a first horn. Bering Music Centre operates from 1546 Harvey Avenue, on the downtown side of Kelowna.
If you are shopping for a student player, go in with the school requirements in hand and ask about rent to own terms, what a setup or a service costs, and whether accessories such as reeds, cases and stands come bundled or separately. Trade ins and consignment are worth raising too. An instrument that fits the player physically is far more use than one bought a size up in the hope of growing into it.
Downtown Kelowna holds the offices, the museums and the waterfront parks, and the streets around it stay busy through the warm months when the valley fills with visitors. Parking is easier earlier in the day. Kelowna is also the service centre for the whole Okanagan, which means people drive in from the smaller towns up and down the valley for things they cannot buy closer to home, and a musical instrument is very often one of them.
