Beauty & Personal Care
A Coldstream storefront and small factory making handcrafted organic personal care, cleaning and baby products, using Okanagan Valley plants and refillable packaging.
Back to Earth Enviro Products makes its personal care, cleaning and baby products at a combined storefront and small factory on Highway 6 in Coldstream. The company started in founder Kiley Routley's home kitchen before growing into the current operation, which now turns out more than fifty handcrafted items, including herbal and medicinal personal care lines, household cleaning products, baby products, wild crafted bulk herbs and essential oil blends, along with a gluten free, seed based cereal that is more of an outlier in an otherwise personal care focused catalogue.
Many of the formulas draw on plants, trees and berries found around the Okanagan Valley rather than imported botanicals, which keeps the ingredient list closer to what actually grows in the region. The company also runs its production with waste in mind: raw materials get composted, packaging is chosen to be environmentally friendly, soap ends are re-batched instead of thrown out, and a number of products are sold in refillable formats so a customer is not buying new packaging every time.
The Coldstream storefront is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon, at 6326 Highway 6. Beyond walk in retail, the products also reach customers through other retail and grocery stores, health outlets and spas across Canada, and directly online. Questions before a visit can go to 250-550-6789 or [email protected].
