About North Valley Contracting Ltd
Armstrong based excavation and septic contractor founded in 2012 by Darren and Thea Wallace, also handling foundations, driveways, site grading, landscaping and snow removal.
North Valley Contracting has worked out of Armstrong since 2012, founded by Darren Wallace, a Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioner, together with Thea Wallace. The company's core work is septic system design, installation and repair, alongside excavation, foundations, underground services, driveways and site grading, and it also installs screw pile foundations for building projects that need to avoid a full dig.
Septic work in particular is not optional trade knowledge in a township like Spallumcheen, where most properties sit on private systems rather than municipal sewer, which makes a local, qualified onsite wastewater practitioner a genuinely load bearing part of the area's infrastructure rather than an occasional service call. The same equipment and crews that handle excavation through the working season pivot to snow removal, sanding and spring cleanup once the ground freezes, which is a common pattern for contractors in a climate with a real winter.
The company works beyond Armstrong itself into Vernon, Lake Country, Kelowna, Enderby and Salmon Arm, which is typical for a specialized trade in a region where no single small town generates enough steady excavation and septic work to support a dedicated contractor on its own. For Armstrong households and the farms around it, though, having a locally based crew that knows the ground and the regulations rather than one dispatched from a larger centre tends to mean a faster response when a septic system fails without warning.
