Lumby yards and bush lots need different handling than a town lot, so we plan each one before the saws come out. Lower branches get pruned back to 2.5 metres off the ground under RDCO rules as part of wildfire defensible space work, which also involves clearing away dead trees, old wood piles and dried vegetation from around a house. Before any cut, the crew checks a tree's structure, how close it sits to buildings and its root health, and a City of Kelowna permit is pulled first if one is needed. The crew works out of 355 Leathead Rd in Kelowna and reaches jobs right across the valley.
