About Mariposa Fruit Stand
Drivers coming into Keremeos from the west on Highway 3 reach Mariposa Fruit Stand at 3125 Highway 3 before much else in the village, which has made it something of a first impression for visitors arriving that way. It is a long running, family run stand in a valley where that description applies to a great many of the roadside sellers, and it carries the produce and preserves that define the area through the growing season.
Alongside fresh fruit the stand is known for its honey sourced from around the valley, pickling cucumbers and a range of garlic and peppers for anyone putting up their own preserves, plus jams, syrups and other homemade goods and ice cream for visitors who would rather eat something on the spot. Parking and picnic tables on site suit the kind of stop where a family gets out of the car for a while rather than just grabbing a box and driving on.
The stand can be reached at 250-499-2749. As with any roadside seller working off the current harvest, what is available shifts through the season, heavy on soft fruit in early summer and moving toward apples, squash and storage crops by fall, so a call ahead is sensible if a specific fruit is the point of the visit. Bring small bills and enough cooler space for more than originally planned, since a stop meant to be quick tends not to stay that way.
