About Alpine Inn
Seventh Avenue carries most of the traffic that moves through Keremeos, and Alpine Inn sits along it at 315, close enough to the middle of the village that a guest can leave the car parked and walk to a meal or a bank. The Similkameen runs hotter and drier than the Okanagan floor over the hill, and travellers tend to arrive off Highway 3 with a box of fruit on the back seat and a plan to keep driving in the morning.
Lodging in a farming village of sixteen hundred people works to a rhythm of its own. Room counts are small, the office is not always staffed at every hour of the day, and the busy stretch runs from the first pick of the season through the last of the apples, when orchard crews, highway travellers and cyclists on the Highway 3 route all want the same handful of rooms. Anyone planning a stay through harvest or across a long weekend does well to arrange it early rather than turn up and hope.
Questions worth raising when you book: whether the room has a fridge or a kitchenette, since a load of produce from the stands and a stop at the grocery on 7th Street are half the reason people break a trip here; whether the parking suits a truck with a trailer behind it; and how early you can settle up if you mean to be on the road toward Princeton or the pass at first light. Air conditioning through a Similkameen July is worth confirming as well.
